Current Exhibitions & Events

2025

March 1 – May 5 Azure to Indigo, at Masham Gallery, Masham, North Yorkshire

a selection of painters and printmakers including Janis Goodman and Ian Scott Massie

March 4 - March 22 Idea of North, Rural Arts, The Old Courthouse, Thirsk

The ‘Idea of North’ is an exhibition by artists who are also members of North Yorkshire Open Studios. Together these artists explore the ways that being in the North influences the making of art. The exhibition takes its title from a book by Peter Davidson who shows the North to be a goal rather than a destination, a place of revelation that is always somewhere absolute and austere – and eternally just out of reach. With this exhibition North Yorkshire is re-imagined as an idea that shapes the creativity of its residents.

March 21 – May 10 North Yorkshire Open Studios Spring Exhibition, Craven Arts House, Skipton

This event offers a taster of the North Yorkshire Open Studios 2025, showcasing the incredible talents of over 200 artists who will be opening their studios to the public later this summer.

July 5 – Sept 1 Colours & Emotions Print Exhibition, at Inspired By Gallery Danby

This exhibition explores some of these statements and investigates the colours of landspaces and how the viewer engages them. Colour is a way of expressing ourselves, reflects moods and has a common language. â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹
